Working from the heart with more hearts this week!
I made these pieces whilst talking about the Mayans and the Torus of Life with a fellow artist and laughing my head off.
6 Hearts and 2 Shells using a clay carving tool to make ripples in the slip to make the lines of the earth, waves of energy, patterns of life and the flow of love.
I also burnished the back of each to add shine like stones, this has to done when the clay is leather hard, its an ancient technique that was used to use to compact the clay before kilns were invented.
These are drying out ready to be fired at the end of this week.
